Angel Tanev, Executive Director of NCIZ, participates at XCity Balkans in Borovets
Angel Tanev, Executive Director of NCIZ EAD, took part in XCity Balkans – the leading regional forum in South-Eastern Bulgaria on smart and sustainable cities.
In its second edition, Future Cities Forum 2026, brought together over 60 Balkan municipalities and technology leaders on 28–29 May in “Rila“ – Borovets.
“The industrial zone of 2035 will be much more than just an industrial site. It will be an integrated industrial ecosystem”, said Tanev during the panel “Economic development, investment and smart infrastructure”.
According to the Executive Director of NCIZ, the industrial zone of the future will not sell only sq. m., it will sell stability, effectiveness and environment for growth. It will provide developed infrastructure, digital management, energy efficiency, high-speed connectivity, etc.
The main discussions included:
· Sustainable and green technologies: integrating eco-friendly solutions to improve quality of life;
· Digitalization: exchange of successful practices for transforming Balkan cities into modern and digital hubs;
· International cooperation: focus on the regional partnership.
