BHTC Bulgaria opens new production base in IP Sofia-Bozhurishte

The company from the automotive sector invests 25 million euro

BHTC Bulgaria officially opened the enlargement of its production base in the biggest state industrial park Sofia-Bozhurishte. 

“Since 2015 the German company, which develops and manufactures climate control and temperature management products for cars, has invested €208 million and created 700 jobs," said Martin Nyland, Managing Director of BHTC Bulgaria.

The event was attended by the German Ambassador to Bulgaria, Irene Maria Plank, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nevena Lazarova, Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Prof. Georgi Angelov, and Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy Natalia Efremova. Among the guests at the opening was Angel Tanev, Executive Director of the National Company Industrial Zones EAD, which manages the industrial zone.

"Investors who stay for the long term and expand their production capacities are important to us. Since the beginning of the year, there has been a trend of growing investor interest in Bulgaria, supported by the decision to accept us into the Eurozone on January 1, 2026. Foreign direct investment has already reached €1.4 billion for the first five months of 2025, which is an increase of nearly 47% on an annual basis," said Nevena Lazarova.

German BHTC is the first investor in Sofia-Bozhurishte Industrial Park. Some of the company's main customers are global brands such as Audi, BMW, Bugatti, Ford, Porsche, Nissan, and others.

BHTC's turnover for 2024 is €717 million, and the company's subsidiaries in Finland, the US, Mexico, China, Japan, and India employ over 3,000 people.
