The Executive Director of NCIZ took part in the 18th Session of the Bulgarian-Chinese Commission

The Executive Director of the “National Company Industrial Zones” EAD Angel Tanev took part in the 18th Session of the Bulgarian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, held in Sofia.
Intensification of trade between Bulgaria and China and expansion of Bulgarian exports to the Chinese market were the main topics of the forum. The meeting was opened and co-chaired by the Minister of Economy and Industry Petar Dilov and the Deputy Minister of Trade of the People's Republic of China Lin Dzi.
This was the first meeting of the Commission after a five-year break from the last session in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the discussions, key areas of cooperation between Bulgaria and China were discussed - trade and investment, transport and communication connectivity, infrastructure, agriculture and food, environmental protection, energy and tourism.
Bulgarian representatives confirmed the desire to balance and diversify mutual trade by increasing exports of agricultural and food products, essential oils, wines and high-tech products. Minister Dilov emphasized the importance of attracting Chinese investments in sectors with high added value, including by promoting the country's industrial zones.
„We are considering the development of bilateral trade and economic relations in the context of Bulgaria's full membership in the European Union and the Schengen area“, Minister Dilov said. He pointed out that the country's accession to Schengen in 2024 has further increased confidence in our economy and established it as a reliable partner.
The two parties expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached and stressed that the successful holding of the Session lays a solid foundation for real results in the near future.
