Prime Minister Rumen Radev Backs Future Space Centre in Dobroslavtsi Industrial Zone
Prime Minister Rumen Radev visited the site of the Dobroslavtsi Economic Zone, where a high-tech industrial park and a space and defence research and development centre are planned to be established. The economic zone forms part of the portfolio of National Company Industrial Zones EAD and is being developed as a strategic location for attracting investment in innovative and high-technology industries.
NCIZ Executive Director Emilia Todorova, Chair of the Board of Directors Andreana Premyanova-Yankova, and Board Member Radostina Sitova welcomed the Prime Minister, who was accompanied by Deputy Prime Ministers Alexander Pulev and Atanas Pekanov.
“From today, we are opening the doors to innovative Bulgarian companies and Bulgarian business leaders with bold ambitions, bold visions and, above all, a proven track record of international success in innovative industries,” Prime Minister Rumen Radev said.
The visit was related to the implementation of the priority investment project entitled “High-Tech Industrial Park and Space and Defence Research and Development Centre – Dobroslavtsi”. The Council of Ministers approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and STARBASE EUROPE EOOD, setting out the framework for future cooperation between the state and the investor.
The project envisages the development of a high-tech industrial zone focused on space technologies, the defence industry, and research and development activities. Its main objectives are to promote investment, technology transfer and innovation, as well as to create highly skilled jobs in Bulgaria.
The implementation of the project marks the beginning of the development of a high-tech industrial park through a public-private partnership. The existing airport runway is expected to remain operational and will be refurbished and extended. The site will bring together manufacturing, development, research and educational activities.
National Company Industrial Zones EAD will continue its efforts to develop the Dobroslavtsi Economic Zone as a key platform for strategic investment, innovation and high-technology manufacturing with high added value.
