The IBA competition "Investor of the Year 2023" awarded a number of companies on the Bulgarian market
On March 5, 2024, the award ceremony for the most prominent investors in Bulgaria in the past year took place. On behalf of "National Company Industrial Zones" EAD the event was attended by the Executive Director of the company Mr. Konstantin Palaveev.
For 18 years the Bulgarian Investment Agency has been rewarding those companies from the country that have made sustainable and effective investments in the previous year, have implemented high technologies and have created new jobs in order to promote smart and sustainable economic growth.
The competition distinguished companies in five main categories:
"Investor of the Year-2023", "Investment in Innovative Business", "Investment in Business Expansion", "Greenfield Investment", "Investment in Human Capital", as well as in the subcategories: "Innovative Product", "Successful Startup", "Sustainable Business", "Municipality in Bulgaria with the Most Investments for 2023", "Investment with Low Carbon Footprint", "Investment with High Contribution to Development in the Region".
Schneider Electric Bulgaria won the grand prize "Investor of the Year-2023", presented by Maria Gabriel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In the category "Investment in innovative business" was awarded "Nidek Electronics R&D Europe Bulgaria" - a company for development of software, hardware and mechanics for electronic modules, etc. The award was presented by the Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva.
The Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov awarded in the category "Investment in business expansion" Amer Sports Bulgaria – the largest ski factory in the world, manufacturer of the brands Atomic and Salomon.
Glass Contribution, a company for the production of glassware and packaging, won in the category "Greenfield investment".
The winner in the category "Investment in human capital" became "Technical components Bulgaria" /TCB Bulgaria/ - a subsidiary of the German company EbV Elektronikbau und Vertriebs GmbH - a company for assembly of electronic components, operating on the territory of the town of Plovdiv. Vidin. The investments amount to BGN 14 800 000 and the jobs created - 500.
The Mayor of Stara Zagora Zhivko Todorov received the award for the municipality that made the most investments in 2023.
